(This program is customized for students not yet of Kindergarten age in 2023-2024.)
This amazing program is customized for students who are ready to leap into learning piano at this young formative age. Each individual lesson combines beginning piano skills with joyful games that teach the fundamentals of music reading, rhythm, sight-singing, and ear training. Students will work on a grand piano. The earlier your child starts, the easier it is to build good practice habits and an aptitude for music.
A unique feature of our approach is our Pre-K Piano Party. This group lesson takes the place of the individual lesson every fourth week. Our Pre-K Pianists will meet for 1.5 hours every fourth Thursday, 4:15-5:45, and Friday, 4:45 PM-6 PM, to play games to fine-tune their knowledge of the keyboard, learn how to read notes on the staff and distinguish different rhythms, as well as discover music through music and movement. As your child progresses, we will add a performance portion to the Piano Party, allowing them to perform for other students and parents. These experiences allow your child to develop into a full musician: performing, listening, appreciating, and experiencing music at a level appropriate to his/her understanding and development. Truly, a solid foundation and love for music are essential to your child’s musical success.
Your child will be prepared to participate in our beautiful Christmas Recital and Summer Extravaganza Recital. Parents may choose to accompany their child to their individual lesson, however, Pre-K Piano Parties are led jointly by Ms. Georgia and our PreK Piano teachers and parents only need to be present for the performance portion (first 20 minutes) of the Piano party.
